View Full Version : Cleaning Snake Tank
Ok, I'm clueless. What can I and should I NOT use to clean my snake tank? I need to do a massive clean up and want everything sparkly and new!
I want to be sure to not use something that will be bad for my snakies. I tried to search some old posts, but I dont know how far back this goes....
Thanks!

Every once in a while I disinfect and sanatize the tank and furniture with a water and bleach solution. Very low concentration, less than 5%. Everything must be rinsed off very well and left to air out before any animal is put back in.
Some people use Hydrogen Peroxide.

I use an anti-bacterial dish soap for the wash, sometimes a bleach solution for rinse (1/2 cap bleach to a gallon of water) then water rinse, sometimes just water rinse. The bleach rinse is only when I have reason to suspect a possible extra nasty, like is the animal doesn't consume a feeder left overnight or something. Outside I use an ammonia based glass cleaner or vinegar.
Thanks!!!! It is time for a washing....
i use bleach like u big mike!
