i have had my bcc for 6 weeks and have, after much trying finally got it to eat. now it is much less shy and no longer strikes randomly when you go near it.

i was just wondering if anyone knew of any effective methods of taming bcc's. this is my first boid( all my other snakes are colubrids). thanx for any input!:)

Gentle peroirds of handling a few times a week. Start low and move up to longer and longer periods. I the mean time it's not a bad idea to take it out with a hook. I belive this to be less stressful on the animal and most bites occure while taking the snake out or putting it back in it's cage.
Cheers,
Trevor

I have snake that used to be like that. She still acts they way every now and then. But I would cover her up with a towel and then pick her up. That way she couldn't see what I was doing til she was out of her cage. Then I would let her do her thing and calm down until she was comfortable and came out/off of the towel. You'll just have to handle your snake a lot to get it to be less aggressive.

Hope that helps,
Good luck,

I must agree with boid keeper, That Trevor is a dolt for sure (he even admitted to "loving a Keiths product") Although he is bigger than me I run very fast. Damm he could not even finish a drink of very good very old Scotch.( Too fussy I say) Then again it was like 11:00 in the morning. Say Hi to your mom for me Trev (His mom loves me to death).

La cerveza mas fina anyone?

What works for me is gentle peroids of handleing no more then 5 mins at a time every other day...This is after the boa has been acclimated and feeding regularily!
