my baby sav has only eaten bugs and pinkies, and he wont eat them if they dont move or the pinkie isn't held up by tongs. hes also had one fuzzy he gulpd down quite easily. but today i skipped over hoppers and tried an adult mouse, i just put it in his food bowl and a while later it was gone. i found him in his log hide chewing in it but he stoped eating when i saw him. i checked on him about 10 minutes later and got this pic of the tail hanging out. it took him a long time to get that tail down. i think this was a bit too much trouble for him, i'm pretty sure he swallowd it whole rather than ripping it into pieces. i'm going to go back and start giving him hoppers instead. hes going to be so fat tomarrow.

well i keep a food bowl in his cage, i put meal worms and king worms in it, he knows to check it every day to see if hes got any food, he also gets crickets ofcourse. but i just layd the dead mouse in his food bowl. a while later it was gone and he was in his hide eating it. after i scared him i left and he moved to his other hide where he finished it, thats where i got that picture. he lookd SO full all night, i checkd on him about 3 times and this morning, his eyes were half closed and he was proping himself up against the corner of his hide box. but today he looks much better, fat, but very active and himself again.

this morning (2 days later) jelly lookd kinda sick again, eyes half closed, not moving so much, i opend the cage and a terrible smell hit me, he regurgitated his mouse =P it was really gross, i'v had snakes regurgitate and it wasn't that gross, and it was whole. i made a dumb mistake.

If that isn't the floor, I kindly suggest that you use a dirt substrate.

i'm ordering eco earth very soon. i wanted to keep newspaper for a temporary substrate. then in summer i plan on mixing it with natural dirt.
