ive seen breeders that use those freezer cargo containers to breed mice in. they put them outside and they ahve their rat/mice racks in there. i was wondering where i can find one of these and how much it would be to get one. here is what im talking about http://www.applegatereptiles.com/about/facilites3.html

International shipping crates are expensive. If you want to breed outside, try a shed with a good heater. Unless you plan on going into business selling feeders though, that seems a bit like overkill.

what type of heater would you recommend. it would need to be able to warm up a shed from singlew idgit numbers

insulate a shed. how many mice are you planning on here?

Yes, an insulated shed and a BIG heater.

well im not sure about how many im planning on having. It wouldn't be for a while that i did this but i was trying to plan ahead. Probably a couple rack fulls of each. the reason i want to keep them outside is because i have no place in my house to keep them. What type of heater should i use in there. like one of those oil filled radiators. also in the summer i will probably need a small a/c unit right? thanks

yes you would probably need an ac unit for summer

as for type of heater... you can get propane, electric, etc. basicly it depends on how well insulated you're going and how many mice you plan on breeding. an insulated shed could cost about 1000-3000 dollars depending on how big you are going.
you have to ask your self, if you're just planning on breeding mice for 5-6 snakes then you may want to reconsider building a shed.

I might be better to produce a bunch when the weather is nice and the freeze them

yeah that sounds like a good idea. I was also thinking about building a small closet inside my garage in the corner and then throwing a space heater in there in the winter.

it might be cheaper to just buy in bulk and store in the freezer
