Hi, ive used peat moss as a substrate for many pets, with tree frogs ive left it most and loos, for snakes, i soak it , then compress it too about 1/2 an inch thick, then dry it, this makes a solid, oder obsorber, and holds the daily misting nicely, , im wondering if maybe just a few inches of the stuff lose would work for the savana monitor, ( same one mentioned below, ),
thanks,
Devon
ps. please reply asap

Loose might not be so good. I worked on a peat bog before and it really sucks to get it in your nose, and the corners of your eyes.
Ingestion shouldn't be an issue though. It's organic, and shouldn't impact or have a detrimental effect on stomach acid pH.

You need to use dirt!

P.S. Where do you live? That could play a big role on this guy's survival.
