I'm hoping to get a decent tax return this year too, and I know what I'll be doing with it... exactly the opposite of what I SHOULD be doing with it. LOL... I'm sure I'll end up spending most of it on herps, and not on paying off my visa, which is what I should do with it :p

I can help you justify buying snakes instead of dealing with the Visa bill. If you don't buy the snakes, someone else will, they won't be around for long. However, if you don't pay your VISA bill.... it'll still be around for ages. No one will zap that from under your nose. So of course, it makes sense to get the snakes first.

....Would you guys advise using credit cards? As opposed to just waiting to get money and never using credit cards? Just a question from the inexperienced.

Tammy, if you have the money. It's good to use to build up good credit. We try to pay off what we use every month. We try not to use it unless we have the money to pay it off or in real emergencies.

Thank you all for your comments. About the credit card thing... I have one that is used exclusively for snakes and feeders. I try to never carry a balance on it for too long.

I have a strictly 'reptile card' too - but you must have way more self control than I do. If I were to keep it paid off, I'd just go and charge it all up again, so I just keep it about a $500 below the filled to the brim line :) That way I can't go too far out of control (maybe)
