This woman is the real deal, if you don’t know about her she authored several books and documentaries about reptiles. Nicole as been my inspiration for more then 20 years, only she can make you feel as if your out there with her in the bush, her animal skills and understanding is unmatched by any TV host, if your into snakes or any reptiles don’t miss out on Nicole Viloteau

BOIDKEEPER:

Yeah I know the feeling but I seen here in a few shows and she does have a weird sense most can' t see about her. I mean I saw her go head to head with a king cobra and just taming it without even really touching it face to face, Seen her deal with other dangerous and very unpredictable reptiles too. She really knows her stuff and how best to prove animals are 1 with people. Check out any nature with animals she will be on it maybe and she how neat it really looks.

That pic of her hugging a komodo dragon is insane but I believe she would try it, to prove the fear factor.....ouch!

Cya...

That's interesting......

Has anyone here ever heard of that little girl (British or French?) who can walk through a flock of wild birds and none of them fly away? She goes off on her own and plays with wild cats in Africa.... and not Siamese cats, Lions! :D She was only about 5 when I saw a spot on her on TV. She must be about 10 by now.

Interesting how some people are so gifted when it comes to animals.... :)

That thing looks like a statue! A very accurate one at that! So does the other dragon in the background. Yah, its pretty amazing what people can do. However, i have to vouch for the dragons being statues even though they could be real! LOL. Does anyone agree with me?

Tim_Cranwill
02-16-04, 06:24 PM
Nope.... why would she be hugging a statue?

And that is WAY to realistic to be a statue.....

Steeve B
02-16-04, 07:28 PM
Aim afraid that’s not a statue! also this isn’t a one shot deal for the cameras, Nicole hugged adult komodos on a daily basis as we our cats. you really have to read about her and see documentaries. a very unique woman.

Looks like a good way to make yourself sick. I say that just because you can kiss a komndo, doesn't mean you should!lol
Thanks for sharing these great pics,
Trevor

I think if I wasn't worried about being so close to that open mouth, I wouldn't worry too much about making myself sick by kissing the tounge.

But yeah, us herpers, that is what I first thought when I saw the picture - bacteria city man -

Cool pictures, really cool pictures - I'm gonna go give the nile monitor a hug and be at one with the animals!

YEEEAA! i saw that and to this day i dont understand how she did it...she tried to explain how you just have to make all the right moves and they dont get aggesive and there was footage when it sorta went a lil wrong and it swung its arm and hit her but like nothing much...i thought this was absolutly facinating!!! Just amazing things people can do...a real life tarzan :)

That is absolutely insane! :)

Time to go looking for videos :)

PS. There was a guy (Tim Treadwell) who was well known in the bear research circles for walking up to wild black bears, browns, and grizzlies and touching them. He was killed and eaten by a bear in the fall, along with his girlfriend. Nature is not always so tolerant.

I knew Nicole more then 20 years ago, its her personality that made me fall in love with her. I shared along with many others a concern for her safety, this woman lived on the edge every day of her life, I think every one who knows her wondered if she who’d live an other day. I know a lot of peoples who’d dough her sanity, especially those who don’t know her and base there judgment on what have been publicized by the media, its sometime hard to see the true nature of someone when all is presented to us is superficial and aimed at shocking, however I can tell you she’s a wonderful person that leaves no one indifferent. She’s a true lover of nature and will share her passion with anyone willing to learn. Thru the years Nicole has been bitten on the face by a Russell viper and nearly died, she also got bitten on leg by a black mamba and got her jeep turned over by a rhino, she’s put her life on the line repeatedly in Asia, Africa and Australia to nourish her love for nature, many will think she’s crazy for free handling vipers and cobras, kissing them as you who’d a corn snake, others think she’s doing this for the show, the truth is this is what she’s doing every day, Nicole is the kind of person that who’d talk to you ½ hour on phone while handling a venomous snake without you knowing. She’s a natural, however if some of you think all that’s needed is to be confident and trusting to do what she’s doing, Il tell you strait FORGET IT you will get in trouble, what distinguishes Nicole from others is her ability to understand animal behavior, she’s also surrounded by competent peoples from whom she gets reliable information on species concerned, so if your plan is to go hug your nil goodnight, pleas be careful it might not turn to be such a rewording experience. Iv read 2 of her books and was delighted, someone posted about Nicole last week on Varanus.nl and shared these photos and some links to new publications now available in English as she’s French and her earlier book warrant available in English, I tot you guys may be interested in some very unusual herp literature.

That's nuts!! Some people just have a way with animals. Can't be explained, only enjoyed. I think its cool.

On a side note however, they have found that the Dragon's skin now contains the same lethal bacteria as the saliva! I wouldn't be getting that close to them!!! :o

A CB wouldn't have bacteria, would it? A komodo that is fed fresh meat, not decaying meat?

JimmyDavid
02-17-04, 04:59 PM
Everybody talks about Komodo bacteria only, but ALL varanids have bacteria in their saliva (also Tegus), so most of us have potencially dangerous animals as pets. But if you think too much into that you'll end up crazy, after all pigeons have tons of salmonela and they are everywhere...

Now, really, That woman is my kind of person. Living life in the edge and all, man...she has a fan here!!!

I prefer to stay out of the dragons' exibit at the toronto zoo :)
