They said that lizards grow to the size of their cages. I think this is bull----. They said iguannas grow only as big as their cages. Wouldn't this make them develop fatal spinal problems? :( How can we educate people so that they don't get the wrong message about lizards? Thanks.
It's total bull. If an iguana is housed in a small cage, and never grows over say three feet....its not because its stunted to the cage size, its because lack of exercise, proper food and heating are making it live a slow, painful suffering life.
No way to stop the 'wrong' message, but like I said in another post, just keep giving out PROPER info everytime you can. We can't force people to listen, but hopefully one day the majority will get the point.

We can't force people to listen
I dunno... I've found that knocking them down and standing on their chest tends to make them pay attention.
Unfortunately that BS myth is a major contributor to the iguana and turtle rescues :( It's really quite alarming the amount of people that believe this to be the truth, and moreso the amount of these people that actually own animals believing this is what will happen :( I see it all the time at work and we can only do our best to inform those that we come across.

I'll consider the knocking down:D
I think they should have an infomercial or something. That's all I could think of.
