Wiggly eggie weggs!!

Our clutch is about 56 days into their incubation, so Pete decided to check on them yesterday. He was watching for a little bit, and then noticed something really exciting! (extra exciting for us-it's our first clutch of anything!!) He noticed movement inside the eggs...We candled them, and could actually seen the outline of a baby dragon (Mostly saw it's tail...) Anyway, they were all kind of wiggling around in their shell.....so I'm kind expecting them to hatch in the next week or so....It was just funny to see an egg wiggling around.....Anyway.....................just thought I'd share!

Congrats, hope to see some baby pics.

When you see the eggs "sweat" you know you only have a few days until they hatch. What temps are you incubating at. That will give you a better idea of when to expect them.

The temps have been pretty steady at 83/84 degrees...I am sort of expecting a 65-70 day incubation...Is that about right??

Yep that should be pretty close. Last year i incubated mine at 81F and if i remember correctly it took close to 71 or 72 days to start hatching out.

Not many. This was her first ever clutch, and she laid 17, and only 13 were good...A few started collapsing about 40 days in, so now we're down to about 8 or 9 healthy looking eggs...the ones that collapsed still have veins and stuff when we candle them, but I don't think they're any good. So I'm hoping for about 9, but expecting about 6....we've obviously have some tweaking to do when it comes to incubation. But, since it's our first time, I'm just glad that any survived. I've already named one most wiggly one...His daddy's name is Norman, so the super-wriggly one is Nelson. Anyway....I'm sooooo excited.....I'm going to have trouble parting with them...I'm going to try to give/sell them to mostly friends and family so I can watch them all grow up...I'm keeping Nelson for myself.
