Hey gang
what do you guys think is an adequate breeding size for a female malaysian blood? my girl is 2.5yrs old and approx 3.5 ft long I was just wondering if I should give it a whirl , or if I should hold off for another season?
Im no expert but id assume that is too small to breed...females at full length are big snakes around 5-7. 3.5 feet seems a little small to be risking breeding the snake and something going wrong.
Id wait another season so she can add some length.
Cheers,

I agree, give it a whirl next season when shes around 5 feet , 20 lbs.
she might not even be ready for next season depending on her feeding schedual.

thanks for the heads up guys
I'm pretty confident she'll be ready for next season , she's on a weekly feeding schedule and she's putting on some healthy weight

Hi all -
Five years ago, I allowed a female who was around 8 pounds to breed (I didn't measure her length). She became egg bound and required surgery. She actually weighed in at the vet's at 7 pounds after passing a couple of eggs. I'm not totally convinced that her small size was the only factor involved in the dystocia, but I probably would not try to breed such a small female again.
