If a mouse has died from what i surmise are natural causes can this now dead mouse be fed to the snake or is it possible if the mouse was sick to pass it or something else to the snake? i figure in the wild they will eat anything and everything so it should be ok, right?

Unless the animal died from something environmental, such as pesticides, it is fine to feed it to your snakie ;)

I would not feed anything that may have been dead for a long period of time. If it is fresh, meaning not stiff as a board and starting to smell then yes it would probably be ok, Otherwise the value of a mouse is nothing in comparison to the snake and i would just throw it away. JMO

Although it is true that snakes in the wild have been known to eat carion, we must remember that these are not wild snakes. If you are feed nothing but quality nutritional food all your life then somone gives you a bigmac Ill bet your stomack would have a hard time digesting it especially when it is loaded with bacteria.
