Something to do with brumation?

I was just wondering, for the last two days my beardie hasn't moved once even for food but I don't think he hit brumation yet because he's only 6 months old. And I have a bearded dragon manual that says they don't usually enter brumation until they are at least 1 year old. (brumation= winter shutdown) So I was just wondering if I should be worried, or if he's just trying to be the laziest thing in our house.

he's sleeping in a cave on the cold side which is 72 F.

What is the temp on the warm side.

the temp on the warm side is usually 85 F and hotter right under the heat lamp where he usually perches. It varies though as the temp in our house changes.

You should have a basking site of at least 100 F some beardies even want higher. The lack of heat is what's causing the lazyness. Up the temps and your beardie should start acting normal.

THe whole side should be 100 F? Because when he basks he sits right under the heat lamp, and most of the time he gaps. So then should I move him to to the warm side, maybe put him on the heat pad, or just leave him? Anyways thanks for your help

oh yeah and how can I "up" the temperatures, i already have a heat pad and heat lamp, 75 Watts.

You have a few options. You can either add another heat lamp, or as many as it takes to achieve the desired temperatures, or you can purchase another heat bulb. Another option which may not suit your enclosure design is to lower the heat lamp closer into the enclosure. Lack of proper heating and lack of UVB/UVA lighting is often the cause of your problem. Do you have a UVA/UVB light?

On a side note, how old is your bearded dragon? If he is a baby, bring the temperatures a little higher, between 105F and 115F. As an adult, keep them around 95-100F.

Yeah I do have a uva/uvb lamp and my beardie is 8 months old. Would placing a heating blanket under him make him wake up? MAybe if I do that it'll warm him up. Anyways a second heating lamp eh? IF I do get one where should I put it? On the cool side or warm side?

If you are getting another heat lamp you should put it on the warm side. Im not sure about the heating blanket.

The problem I see with heat pads and bearded dragons, is that it will give you false temperatures as to what the basking site is. I wouldn't use them. As for the heat lamp, yes use it along with the other one on the hot side.
