View Full Version : feeding red belly
i read that red belly turtles in the wild eat snails. my friend happens to have snails that are reproducing like crazy, i told her i'd take some if i found out any of my reptiles eat snails. she has teeny tiny snails that my turtle could swallow the whole thing, would these be a bad idea to feed to him?

Hello Michele, snails are a great food for your Turtle, and it will love to eat them. If you can get them in advance, you should try to keep them in clean water for 2-3 days to flush them out. That way, they won't be carrying any of the medications that are commonly used with tropical fish.
Take care, Johnny.
ok thanks, i will do that with the water and stuff. i will ask my friend for maybe 5 or so and give them to him threw out the week, does that sound ok?
