View Full Version : Reptile Shows, Borders, and other legalities
Being that I live in the USA, and am planning on coming to the show in toronto. I was wondering if anyone here has had to take a reptile across the USA/Canadian border. I'm trying to look into it myself, but sometimes silly web pages just don;t load. I can;t imagine there;d be much of a problem bringing an animal that is legal on both sides across, but who knows there may be some silly form i need to fill out. I;d imagine with as many breeders frequent this site, someone is bound to know. Any info at all would be appreciated...thanks in advance

Hey Kurzix,
Unfortunately, it's more complicated than you'd think, although it could be worse I suppose.
Check out the info on this page:

That should help you out a bit... I've never done it myself (yet), as it just didn't seem worth the hassle, especially after the exchange rate and stuff (which in your case, actually works in your favour :))... It can definitely be done though.

Luckily I will be at the controls of the Vehicle and I am a border vertran. As long as we got our p's and q's and any kind of paper work we need, Its gonna be a smooth trip
Jeff - Thanks for moving the post, I kinda did that myself with a second post here. Where I posted the info I found as I found it.
Jen - The link is all *****'ed out, so if you could be so kind as send the link to me via PM i;d really appreciate it.
Corey - Thanks for the info but I more or less just found that out today after playing government phone tag. Too bad I was kinda looking to get some CITES listed animals. F&W do want an inspection, and they want a declaration form, and they want 72 hour notice.
