Well here is my first aboreal to hatch, a little White Line Gecko. She incubated for an AMAZING 171 days! Here I was thinking it would be more like 60...

The father is a normal brownish White Lined Gecko but the mom is a hybrid of a golden and a WLG, she is a very nice bright banana yellow, hopefully she will be the same as mom.

Here he/she is

PS I have about 7 more eggs incubating with 2 more to be dropped.

Hope you like, Jeff

Wow that is al ong time for such a little egg to be cooking! I'm curious what temp were you incubating at?

Congratulations on the baby and more to come :)

Well she glued them at an odd part of the cage, so the heat lamp could not deliver enough heat to incubate properly, i think they were coolin at around 75-80.

I have never hear of a small gecko egg cooking for so long.........that is really interesting Jeff, thanks for sharing :)

I've found even with Phelsuma eggs there can be a HUGE variance in hatch times, but as long as the temp changes are subtle, they always seem to hatch. I actually had a clutch of </i>P. laticauda</i> eggs that I drove with in my care for about a teo hours drive in the middle of winter the day my heater decided to stop working in my old car...........they hatched two months later :)

Congrats again, baby vittatus are very cute indeed.

Actually I am still waiting for the other egg to hatch lol. There was the clutch of 2 eggs, she hatched and now its been a month and the other still has not.

Melissa-

I just taped a margarine container full of vermiculite around the eggs. The container has 4 small hole caround it for air and moisture. Every now and then I will spray them a bunch to keep up the humidity. The temps were roughly 75-80 through the day with a night time drop of 68.
