Tech Tip...remote thermometer at a great price

Being involved in both instrumentation and herpetoculture, has me always on the watch for
"tools of the trade" specifically thermometers, hygrometers, thermostats, timers, lighting.. all those necessary gizmos.
I just picked up a fantastic remote thermometer made by UPM.
This thing comes with one transmitter and also has a built in temp room sensor... It records highs & lows, and is even an alarm clock, with snooze and a countdown timer....
It will display in both F and C degrees too, and can handle up to 4 remote thermometers (transmitters). It has a 40 metre range which is quite decent.
I've got the remote in my hibernation room,and the main unit next to my bed, so I can check the temps each evening and morning without having to go into the hibernation room to look.
I will soon contact the manufacturer to get a couple more remotes to monitor incubators as well, on the other channels....
These things are great!!! And the price is fantastic....ONLY $$$ 26 bucks cdn at "The Building Box" Comes with batteries too!! How can you beat that

I paid $40 for a really basic indoor/outdoor thermometer with a single probe (on a 12' wire, not remote) and built in hygrometer. You can skip the hygrometer part and still pay $20 + for an equivalent thermometer. Twenty-six bucks is a hell of a deal, especially considering the remote feature. Great find!
