I saw this exact light at my reptile store near me. At that store it said it gives off uva and uvb so they can create calcium blah blah. Then i was home and saw pretty much the exact same bulb. Same shape, diff company...it wasnt created for reptiles but just an energy saving light bulb. Anyone know if i can use this the same as the one at the petstore..heres a pic of the one i found in my house..i have liek 5

I use those lights (screw in fluorescents) from Home Depot or Walmart for just lighting (not heating) an enclosure. I would have some issues with the packaging if it says that the bulbs helps them 'make or create calcium'. As well, I'd like to see just how much and what range of UV-B the light produces. If it's not in the right range, it's useless for producing Vitamin D3.

From what I understand, those lights are garbage. I am talking about the reptile one, from ZooMed. The one your showing, I do not believe gives off any UVB at all. The reptile one doesn't give off sufficient rays either, or so I am told.
