I was just wondering....
My kenyan sand boa didn't eat because it is in shed. Could I give its pinkie to my burmese? This isn't the only thing I'm feeding my burmese, but my burm is about 3 and 1/2 feet long. I worried that it might transfer some kind of disease, but I don't want to waste the pinkie.

Eh. Just toss it. I see no point personally in feeding any size burmese a pinky.

You will only be out a dollar. If that much.

See the problem is I already bought the pinkie and a rat for my burm. I tried feeding the kenyan last night but it didn't want to eat and I tried again this morning and still no luck. So I was debating should I give it to my burm or let it go to waste. Thanks for the input.

just refreeze it and try again after your sand boa sheds.

I would just throw it out IMHO. I never share prey items between snakes, just to be on the safe side. Also, a pinky is way too small for even a hatchling Burmese. I wouldn't recommend refreezing it, you already tried twice. If you don't want to waste it, chuck it outside for the critters to eat... should be picked up pretty quickly ;)

Any leftovers I have(not so much anymore with 12 snakes to try), I usually give to the cat. Sounds sick, but I figure she catches tons out in the woods, these ones are probably no worse for her. Find a local cat and give them a treat... :)

I wouldn't risk any chance of cross-contamination over the price of a pinky mouse. Its hardly worth the effort for the Burm to even eat it LOL Mark

If one of our snakes rejects, we usually just toss it. I'm with Mark, there's no point in risking cross-contamination, especially over such a cheap and easy to get prey item.

I was always under the impression that you cannot re freeze mice/rats. Is this true??
