I have a siberian chipmunk, a sugar glider, and 2 kelpies. That's more than enough fur for one appartment, lol.

Here's a picture of the kelpies (the male, the lighter one, is afraid of the camera for some reason so he's always squinting ... this is about as wide-eyed as he's ever been in a picture!)http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/500/3582IMG_3257-med.JPG

That hairless guinea pig is pretty cute in an unusual way ... kind of like a potato with legs, lol.

Okay here comes the attack of the luna-shots!
Here's the best kitty in the world, Luna. She's a Norweigen Forest Cat. She yawns at my mom, yawns at my dad, yawns and glares at my sister, and loves me (or at least my bedroom) :D She is by far the coolest cat in the world. I got her for my 5th birthday :) She was my first ever pet that I was responsible for :)

Mykee:
I have a female black lab and her name is also Willow. The picture of her and Peaches is too cute. My Willow would never play with our ferretts. she'd always smell of them and then wonder what the heck it was and why was I holding it and NOT petting her. We had 3 ferrets, but was unable to keep them due to work so we gave them to a lady that has had ferrets in the past and also has 2 kids. I call and check on them and the kids always tell me that I can't ever have the ferrets back. It's great to know that they are being well taken care of.

it's also nice that they let you call them. As I said in my earlier post we got an elderly dog from a woman whose mother had fallen and broken her hip.

They had this dog for 5 years, it came from an abused home before that.
and when I said, "if you want, we can call you from time to time to let you know how he's doing" she started crying. So we gave her our phone number and my email address...

She was extremely thrilled that she could check up on her mothers dog.

It is nice that the people don't get offended that you like to check up on your "ex" animals....

you kidding? I send Siretsap updates of my leos all the time.. I think his mom would kill me if I didn't! Freckles was her favorite and he sold her to me! lol... next time i go over (Monday) I will probably bring them with me for her to see how they've grown since she last saw them.. should be fun to see! :D

Trevor, funny you should say that, becuse about 6 months after we had Willow fixed, Both Tania and myself started to regret the decision. Her temperment is wonderful and her disposition is the greatest. She loves to play with anyone or anything and has a special attachment to two male white rex rats that I was GOING to feed, oh well.... Louie and Willow would have made some beautiful babies, he's very handsome and I could only imagine how spoiled he is.

Ok I don't know how to post more then one pic so bare with me here. We have 4 cats, 2 dogs and some fish. Out of those 1 dog, 1 cat and the fish are mine. My dog also does not have any eyes. I've had her since I was 12 got her for my birthday.

Thats awesome how you kept your eyeless dog. I know alot of people that would have just had him put to sleep.
I have to ask though. Do you ever rearrange your house? Or do you just leave it the way it is so he knows where everything is? And if you do rearrange it, does he run into things?

Rebecca
01-28-04, 06:08 PM
Alot of people think I should have put her down, but as most of you on here understand she's just like my child. I won't let my mom move the big things like the couch and that. But I have moved my bedroom around and she gets around well in there. The only time she runs into things is if she gets too excited and then she just run into everything ;)

sapphire_moon
01-28-04, 08:55 PM
put a special helmet on her! If you don't want to answer, just say so. But how did she loose her eyes?

Rebecca
01-28-04, 10:57 PM
I think she's get mad if I stuck her head in a helmet!! As for how she lost her eyes it's kinda graphic but here goes . . . I found out she had dieabetes, because of that she got cataracs in her eyes they then broke down and blocked the fluid in her eyes, it's called glacoma (sp?), her eyes then swelled to the point they were out of her sockets, so the vet removed them. So ya that's how the eyeless wonder came to be. It'll be 2 years in July. 2001 was a tough year for me and her we went through alot together.

I don't have a cat, but.....
My iggy would like to eat my dog.... :) Actually, my iggy is scared of the dog, and I think given the chance she would seriously injure the dog.

My dragons, would love to eat my fish. hee heee heeeeee.

My dog is curious with the dragons, but I've not let them too close. I will let Brandy sniff the dragons, but I don't trust her not to chomp a dragon.

What is it with reptile people and APBTs?
LOL! Maybe we are just people that tend to love things that have undeserved bad reputations. Here's a pic of our Pit, her name is Sophie and she was a rescue from the humane society. Seems someone moved and *forgot* to take here along. They left her tied up and pregnant with no food or water. She had 13 puppies that fortunately they found homes for and my boyfriend adopted her.
She has quite the life now, her own room, with her very own couch and plenty of food. :D

Where'd you get the Kelpies...? I got my Sandy from the local SPCA, didn't know what she was when I got her, but I'm quite sure she has some Kelpie in her. Here's a shot of her, maybe you could tell, I've never actually seen one in person, unless she is one:

She's an awesome dog! She was abused, so she's really nervous around new people, but once she gets to know someone, she's really great. I didn't know they were bred in Canada, but admittedly, I didn't look very hard...

Cheers

Hello.
Sorry I gave no details. I was standing in my sister's wedding, no, I didn't choose the poufy dress, LOL. That is the only pic I have of my dog on CD.
Alex was my first dog, my first love, and my first heartbreak. I tattooed his likeness on my wrist after he died, so I can see him everyday for the rest of my life. *sigh* I'm still so proud of how handsome he was...

As I understand it, that's basically what Aussie Kelpies are(or how they were first bred anyways). It's funny, alot of people comment that she looks kind of "Coyote-ish" too. She's a fairly small dog, sometimes people will ask "How big will she get when she grows up...?" Ummm, she's 6 years old, I think she finished by now... :) When I first got her I thought she was part German Shepherd, so maybe that's why people think she'll get bigger(she's about 1/2 the size of a GS). If you look at her compared with a GS though, I don't really see a similarity.

~Suntiger~
01-30-04, 09:23 PM
Will,
I'm not sure what your dog is, but I'm no expert!! I got my kelpies (which are dingo/cattledog, Rob! lol) in a round about way. A relative of someone I know used to have a kennel company where he bred them, but when his kennel ended up closing had to get rid of them. As soon as I saw them I fell in love, and they became part of the family. I was told that he'd imported them from Texas originally.

BTW, they are not fixed and I am planning on breeding them!! :)

Just out of curiousity, they aren't a recognised breed, correct? If they came from the same kennel and aren't papered and you plan on breeding, how can you be sure that you have the best situation, genetically, for breeding? I'm just curious so please don't take any offense to my questions. Breeding tends to be a sensitive subject in a lot of cases........:)

~Suntiger~
01-30-04, 09:45 PM
Well, to the best of my knowledge they are only a recently recognized breed, and they may have HAD papers (I was more concerned about rescuing them, as the kennel closed under rather unfortunate circumstances.)

Thanks for answering my questions...:) Sometimes this subject gets as bad as religion........lol. I hope all goes well for you.......:D

*EDIT: Just so you know, if you're interested in knowing if they were ever papered, you can find out from the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club)

But Sleddergirl, they were imported from Texas so they are most likely registered in the AKC (American kennel club)........... no? I have an unregistered/fixed b1tch so I don't really know much about these registration. I know that WHEN I do get a papered apbt, it'll be registered in the ADBA. The pit bulls very own registry.
