i was wonding what would be a better first snake a ball python or a carpet

I dont have any experience with ball python but I just LOVE Irian Jaya Carpets. Doesnt need too much care and are lovely :)

i was looking at some all ready and i think that jungle will be better because they dont need such big cages do u know any thing about them

humm.. I know that jungles grow bigger than irian jaya :)
Irian Jaya are subspecies of jungles.. so they must be very similar...
I would defintiely not recommend a jungle carpet as a first snake. Somewhat variable in temperament but often leaning towards high strung animals. Personally I don't think carpets or ball pythons make very good first snakes, but if you were set on one or the other I would have to go with a cb Ball Python.......... I elaborated on this topic in your post in the General Python Forum....

If you simply MUST have a Boid, get a CB Ball. Even CB Boa constrictos are good, if you can be ready for their eventual size.
Or you could get a colubrid. They are basically bullet-proof.
