Any corn snake ideas?

I have a 35 cm corn and I have a 3 ft by 1ft by 16 inches (height). I have 3 fake plants but the interior still looks bland. I'm hoping for something that can help my inclosure look nice. (I also have a thick branch for him to climb but it's probably too big for my snake since he doesn't climb it.) Any ideas?

I have a few aquarium decorations in my enclosures for my corns. I choose them according to their ability to provide a hiding place as well as something they can climb on. They don't use them a lot for climbing (although every now and then will climb all over them), but as hides, they use them all the time.

I want him to climb more often, but the branch i bought him is like 5 times bigger than him. The only store that i know in Toronto is PJ's Pet Shop and they only have big branches. Do u know any stores or products that can be used for him to climb?

You could find your own rocks and branches I guess, but they would have to be treated before putting them in with him. I've never done that so I'm not sure exactly what is involved with that. Can anyone else answer that? Do you wash in a bleach solution, or bake in the oven, and if so, what temp and for how long?

But corn snakes are not necessarily great climbers. Some like to and some don't, but generally they are more of a ground dwelling snake.

LOL well I don't know any stores that are good for your snakie to climb :p, but grapevine is nice (and cheap) and comes in all different sizes. You can buy it at stores, but I wouldn't recommend those really expensive "brand name" kind, just because you will end up paying $20 for a 6" hunk of grapevine :rolleyes: Get the loose kind... it usually ranges from 1.99 - 6.99 (CDN) depending on size. Driftwood from outdoors and any other branches and rocks are great, but it can be a pain to get in this crappy weather (I don't know where you are located because it doesn't say, so I am only going on the weather here which is very cold, very snowy, and very icy).

I'm also going to disagree with the above statement that cornsnake are not great climbers. They are excellent climbers, and most of the corns I have had the opportunity to work with loved to climb. They will perch on big branches and just hang out :p

Yeah me too! When given the chance my corns LOVE climbing, they seem to be able to cling to the smallest tiniest edge, or lift themselves up quite far off the ground with only their own strength.

I have my corns in rubbermaids for now until we have more permanent space for larger enclosures. But since they do climb and exercise so much if given the chance, I have a huge huge rubbermaid I got which has no hiding spot, 3 branches, and also easy to clean between uses, so I can put each one in for a few hours a week, or for the calmer laid back ones, a day per week.
