Gruesome. I love it. I bet he loves getting pinkies huh? He would probable tear a fuzzy or even hopper mouse apart if given the chance.

Very cute, how old is it?
Looks like you have him set up really nicely, any pictures that show more of the tank?
Garrett, they will tear up and eat most of a larger food item, but it makes such a terrible mess that, with our snappers, we usually try and avoid giving them large food until just before major water changes.

gfisher2002,
Yes he sure does love his pinks. They seem to really speed up his growth with every pinky he seems to get bigger..lol
Scales Zoo ,
The tank is not very big only about 15 gallons. The snapper is a little bigger then a toonie so he is still very small

I would love to have one. They just get so big (even though they grow so slow) and I am against having an aniaml you know you can't house when it's full grown. I wish I had the room. :)

Sorry, but thats the reason that I wouldn't have one. Don't enjoy watching any animal eat another.

Why??
having to feed something to another is one thing....having to enjoy it is another

I think i can speak for everyone when i say that its not really enjoying it, but more like facinating..atleast for me :D
Im not a blood thursty animal killer or sommin...
Its funny I have no problem feeding guppies or crickets to my turtles or mice to my hognose snake, i enjoy watching their natural behaviours, but i feel bad using snap traps to trap the deer mice we get in the house sometimes. Instead I switched to live trapping them and sometimes if its really cold out i feed them for a couple days before i let them go.
