I'm interested in keeping these species and was wondering if any of you have any captive husbandry experiences that you could relate for me. Thanks.
The only place i've seen them advertised for sale is from Price Animal Company. I imagine if you e-mailed them they'd be willing to share their experiences, I seem to recall them running in the quadruple digits in terms of cost though. From what i've heard their like a mamba with a more prehensile tale and a less pleasant disposition.

I already tried to e-mail Thomas Price and I get an undeliverable message. The Price Animal Company webpage is also down. Hank Molt has some for $1250 at the moment. I have seen them listed at around $600 a few times. From what I have seen and read they seem almost like a mamba and a forest cobra rolled into one.

I dont think Hank has half of what he puts up. I dont have any but I know sombody who does. Yes they are like a mamba forest cross. Not a good mix if you are not sure of what you are doing. I would be interested to see how long Hank will give you the run around before he tells you his deal fell through because he deals with zoos and they have most of his animals. Or some crap like that. I would also think that sombody who offers all that for sale would bring more than a few vipers to the expos. Good luck in your search.

You'd think. I was really looking forward to seeing Hank Molt's table at the expo, but the only cool thing there was the parviocula. That's OK; I spent my $$$ on that pair of truly smoking giant copperheads from Craig Trumbower and was happy with what I got.

I have been throwing around the idea of purchasing Hank Molts pair of parviocula and I have no problem paying big bucks, but $6750 a pair is pretty steep! I like his stances on the hobby though....especially when it comes to venomoids.
I agree that the venomoid trade is cruel and abusive and needs to be stopped, but I don't particularly like Hank Molt's views on venomoids. Calling a venomoid snake "trash" is akin to branding a rape victim as a *****.
As far as attitude goes, there is not a lot of difference between somebody who thinks it's okay to cut the venom glands out of a snake and somebody who judges a snake as "trash" because the hurt and abuse it has suffered makes it no longer worthy of any consideration or compassion. Both viewpoints are about letting the snake suffer in the cause of human ego. I don't agree with either.
Click here for a lengthy essay on the subject if you particularly want one.

I agree. I don't particularly like that statement either. Thanks for the link.
