Well folks I just saw for the first time this season my Vietnamese Blue Beauties in full "lockup" WOO HOO! Futhermore it looks like the female (? not positive & didn't want to disturb them) just shed too boot. Nothing like a freshly shed girl to bring out the best in Mr. Nasty (thats the snakes name you pervs LOL) Anyhow fingers are now officially crossed for the first couple of the season. They were successful last year so odds are good. Mark :p

Way to go!
Do the Asian Elaphe differ from the American Elaphe in their breeding requirements? Brumation and etc???

THX everyone!
Tim, mine last year were housed together on the floor of my reptile room on the outside wall with no lights or heat pads. They seemed to pretty much go off food on their own & eventually started doing it. So they weren't really cooled that much maybe 75-77 F This year I put them in a spare bedroom & simulated similar conditions (slightly cooler), they again went off food pretty much & again did the deed as soon as they were introduced (I think. It was a week ago, but I didn't see for sure until today). So no I didn't cool them no ways near as much as the normal colubrids & they did eat a little during their cooling. So kind of the Python breeding schedule without the same highs & slightly cooler lows. It worked last year & so far so good this year. The rest of my Colubrids are in burmation (50-60 f) for at least another month, maybe 2 depending on the snake & well the keeper LOL Mark
