I'm rather fond of my skin... so I just leave mine alone.
I've even gone to the extent of having a pair of pretty good leather work/welding glove that I use for removing mine from their cages. Every time I try to do it bare handed, one always latches on to a finger.

...it should also be mentioned that these aren't even truley *my* lizards. The girlfriend manages feeding, misting, and actual cleaning... I just get stuck with transportation.. yipee for me!

hey. i have trained mines to be tame. at first when i bought them home they would all ways bite the day light out of me just like a lot of other tokays! well i would just place my hand in their tank, making them use to me. then i would slowly adjust the distance, closer then closer. this took me about 1 week. than i would touch their backs a little at a time. next when they are use to this i will try to pick them up in their tank and let them clime down my arm back into the tank. this took about 4 weeks. after that i would try to pick them and hold in my hand. this about 2 week. hope this helps you

my tokay is quite tame but still nips at me when he doesnt want to be held. sometimes he feels like it sometimes he doesnt. i dont know about anyone elses tokays but mine likes to sit on my shoulder and stare at the t.v. lol

on the subject of tokays.. what is the most distinguishing trait that seperates males and females?

I'm was pretty sure that I had a female by looking at the base of the tail/groin area (femoral pores i think?) anyways.. she/hes been around for a little over a year now and no eggs.. I was under the assumption that they layed eggs no matter if they had a mate or not.... I'm really encourging the woman to do some good research and I havent really looked into myself.. (homework is killin' me)

thanks

I've managed to tame my male tokay to the extent where I let him sit on me, I still don't do it often and still wear thick gloves ;).
