Feeding Tort's Turtles?

At what time of the day do you feed your turtles/torts thier veggies/greens/fruits? Also, how long do you leave it in thier enclosure?

My little CA wood seems to like taking a nibble every now and than. So, I've been leaving her a salad to nibble from all the time. I was also setting it out in the morning. She also appears to be active/inactive at different parts of the day/night. I forget the word(not nocturnal or diurnal). So, I'm not sure as to when to set the food out. If I do in the morning, the food obviously isn't fresh the next morning (not rotten by any means). Should I try and force her to just eat for a certain amount off time - say the morning for 20 min? Or does it depend on the individual. What do you think?

Hey, sorry i know nothing about tutles/torts. But the word your looking for, crepescular? It means active at dusk and dawn. Sorry i cant help.

Depends on the species, what time they will do most of their feeding at. I don't know much about Wood turtles so I cannot comment on that. I try to feed my Redfoot in the morning, because that is when they are supposed to be most active in the wild, but I don't sweat it if that doesn't happen. He's always hungry...lol :p I leave his food in there until I feed him the next time, in the wild they eat and walk, that's it, so IMHO it's a good idea for them to have food available more than once a day.

My Redfoot is always hungry. He woke up one night at 3:00am when I got called into work. He woke up and did his "I'm hungry" dance at the front of his enclosure. It was hilarious. I picked him up and he looked half asleep. When I put him back he walked like 6 inches and fell back asleep. Like I said, always hungry.
My turtles get fed in the morning before I leave. The young ones get a second smaller feeding around supper time. The adults are fed every other day. They eat mostly crickets, mealies, feeder fish, and some veggies, and the odd Reptomin meal.

I feed my torts(Redfoot and Sulcata) in the morning, every two or three days and my turtles(DBT, African Sidenecked) in the afternoon or evening every other day.

i was wondering if there was a best way to get a stinkpot to eat. My wild caught stink pot has refused food for about 2 months. Im not sure if maby he is just slowing down for the winter. Maby i could try a certin food or something. Any info would be apprciated
