Hi All,
Its been a long time since I posted anything but I just had to share this pic of my pair of Phelsuma standingi. The female (on top) had been quite ill for some time and I thought I would lose her, but about two months ago she started to come around and has almost completely regained her old attitude. She had wasted away to almost nothing and refused to eat. Well, she's started to pack on pounds again (although she still has a way to go) and as you can see she's happy to be back snuggling with "her man." He seems pretty happy to have "his girl's" arm around him again.

Sapphire Moon,
I guess their more common name would be Standing's Day Geckos. They're a bigger day gecko, like the grandis day geckos. Their baby's look quite different though, reddish stripes on a bluer body. This pair had actually produced quite a few young before the female got sick. I don't know if she'll ever lay eggs again, but even if she isn't capable any more, it doesn't matter.

That's great that she's finally on the road to recovery! :) However, I would err on the side of caution and keep her seperate from any males. Stress of being bothered to breed will not help her recover, and if she actually does start to reproduce it could be very dangerous for her.

Thanks for the advice Linds, she seems to be okay, but I'll keep an eye out and move her if it seems necessary. It appears to be the reverse scenario though, she constantly moves to him, he never pursues her. But then, he's never been an aggressive breeder in the 4 years I've had them.
