Often aim told by even good breeders about how difficult it is to keep the smaller tree monitors, the prasinus group and other seemingly delicate Australian tree species.
The problem mostly encountered seems to be food related, organ failure and paralysis often resulting in death. Personally I don’t supplement these monitors because I think they are more fragile to excessive minerals intake, there arboreal nature keeps them from rubbing food on ground like most other monitors, by doing this they ingest much minerals, tree monitors evolved to function with a lesser amount of such minerals, however they feed on high energy prey that feeds on greens, mine do very good without any supplements, my rodents and insects are well fed and I never give them meat or any such foods.
So if your successful with ground monitors and have problems with glauerti, prasinus and the likes, you may want to consider adjusting your feeding regiment.
