I've only seen a couple specimens in person, but the Taiwanese Blue Beauty snake is nice. I'm not sure how much blue you're looking for but as far as looks and price is concerned, it seems it's an all around good deal.
I hope I helped some.
Have a great night!
Adam
But if you think about it, blue doesn't really go with anything. Poor choice of colour, fall colours are in, maybe something in a pastel. Seriously though, flaming aside, did you not question your friends 'interest' in snakes when she had a colour preference? You're fairly limited when your colour preference for any animal is BLUE.

haha, yah I know she loves my snakes to death ball pythons and corn etc etc but she was just unsure of whats out there and would like it if it was possible to use that to get into the hobby, more or less she wants vibrant colours ive made a few recomendations as far as good snakes that ive found easy and ive got it down to a anhrey corn, ballpython or a pueblan milk

The blue beauty was a good suggestion, gorgeous snakes, though they can get quite large 5-7 feet but staying fairly slender. As far as temperment, they are like a big corn snake:)
Cheers, Kyle~

I've heard blue beautys are kinda nippy......and if you get a ball python make sure it is from a GOOD reputable breeder.......how about a blue tongue skink. It's not completely blue, but you get a colorful surprise when it opens it's mouth.....

How about a blue corn?
You can check out this link:

There is a semi bluish one there, but probably not what you're looking for. If you really want to see a blue corn check out this one ;)

LOL!!! That last link was funny, damn photoshop.
As for the snake, it sounds like your friend is more interested on the color than the snake itself. Therefore i won't suggest anything more than a corn snake, they are cheap and easy to start with. They don't come blue or barbie pink, the color is absolutely irrelevant, tell your friend that.
I think the closest you will be able to get to that one would be a blue beauty, there are some very striking blue specimens in the herp world, but they are either very pricey or venomous.

*grins* Just get a Mexican Black Kingsnake, that way they won't be spoiled with 24/7 blue, but once in a while, they're eyes will turn a nice shade of baby blue and their scales will have a nice light blue tint ;)

Not to sound like a bitch but...from what i've gathered out of you, i would seriously NOT recommend a BP as a starter snake for your friend.
Your friend knows that Ball Pythons don't come in blue right?

there are very few accual blue snakes out there, and the only one i can really think of off hand is a boomslang. (not at all a suggestion) blue is very rare in snakes and most u find are not suteable for starters. i would go with a good old corn snake, bp are nice but they can be tricky, it really depends on how deticated your freind is, most people just want a snake as a pet, they are not thinking of it as a big hobby. i started with a little bp from a pet-co and i still have him to this day with very minimal problems, its really a choise made by a person as to how much do they want/like snakes?

one of the easiest to look after with alot of blue would be a blue gartersnake the blue is very vibrant stipesand it does not get large so it can be kept quite easily.
