I fed my corn his first pinky on January 9th. He took it down without a problem but he still hasn't pooped it out yet. It's time for his next feeding but I just need to know if I can feed him before he poops it out, or if I should continue to wait for him to use the bathroom? This is my first snake, so sorry if this question sounds dumb.

Sometimes the little ones won't go to the bathroom after a first meal or two in my care I have noticed. I am sure its because the original breeder/source was feeding them less often and they basically used most the pinky up for nutrients. I could be way off, but this is what I have noticed.

He should be going to the bathroom regularly by the time the next pinkie digests. As long as you do not see or feel any lumps on him right now, I would go ahead and feed him.

My snakes do not go to the bathroom every time they eat some times they take a couple meals before they go its normal.I know with my ball pythons if they are swollen looking near the vent and still wont go i just give them a soak in warm water. So yes i would think it is ok to feed again.Hope i helped a little.

No problem to go ahead and feed him. Another thing to be aware of is that with a small cornsnake, they produce quite small poops and while it may be easy to spot them if the bedding is paper towel, they can easily get missed if he is on aspen bedding or something similar.

I am sure he will go once he gets a couple good sized pinkies through him, and then soon you will be ready to move him up to bigger prey.

My baby corns sometimes didn't poop at all when they were on pinkies. It wasn't until I moved them up to fuzzies that they started pooping regularly. Pinkies pretty much get completely absorbed.

Thanks... I will try feeding him again tomorrow.

I do still see a mass near his vent, so maybe he will use the bathroom by the time I feed him, or shortly after.
