[Been bitten]

Help me i'm out in the middle of nowhere in arizona and i just stood on a diamond back,it bit me and i'm 6 hours from the nearest hospital what should i do?!!!!!

I think it is meant to be a hypothetical situation. I prefer specific questions regarding protocol for venomous snake bite. "A simple "What do I do if I get bitten?" tells me that someone does not want to do the research needed.

For one thing, I'm not too sure there is anywhere in AZ that there is a 6 hour gap from civilization, honestly. I've gone herping all over the place out here, and it usually takes about 2-4 hours TOPS to get out of the desert, and back into a city. This isn't a very big state, lol. And, are you writing from a laptop? lol.. That's awesome. :p Well, I hope you're ok...

well lets see....first place a turniquet as tight as you can, then get a bucket of ice water to soak leg in, then get out the old trusty boy scout knife and cut from the toenail up to the left ear, then go to the nearest gun store and buy a stun gun (failing that, just find a cop and antagonize him untill he zaps you with his stun gun on the lips), oh yeah, did I mention the need to cunsume 4 gallons of alcohol?

We don't have to encourage these kinds of troll post (if that's what they are) by replying to them. A responce is just what this person is looking for and by replying to him, he wins. If we chose to ignore this kind of post or reply to as if it were real (in case it is) then they will go away.

Let us not forget one must shave and put on aftershave as to smell nice for the ER staff. Also be certain to order from Mc Donalds and go outside with IV hooked up to smoke. Oh yes and by all means have them start the IV with Polyvalent in it...

That was from when I helped out at a serpentarium here. The serpentarium is where I got trained in venomous and experience with exotic hots.

But the pic is mine. I used to have a whoel series of him eating including a movie of the strike/hold. I have had a couple people try to take credit for it and have even seen it on a couple sites pawned off as their own :mad:

Please help me, I've jumped out of a plane at 30,000 feet and I've forgotten my parachute, what do I do? Please respond quickly as I've now reached terminal velocity and should slam into the earth within 15 seconds. lol! Oh and you can improvise some anti venin by killing the snake and drinking it's blood. Not many people know that...

Just a Thought, but what would you guys do if you saw on the news a guy was bitten and died from a rattlesnake bite in AZ.

Location is U.K. In the middle of an Arizona desert, just been bitten by a rattlesnake, happens to have a laptop AND wireless internet access, and is still coherent enough to register at ssnakess.com, and post about it.

Ok I was walkinh in the woods to do the call of nature all the sudden while moving a palm frawn I feel this strange burning in my hand i look down Oh MY ive been bitten by a pigmy rattler.
Do I quit work and go to the doctor? Do i grab the snake and keep working? Or do I finish the call of nature and keep the snake and finish the day? Mind you I had to go bad the tree wont need watering for a year lol.
Is this the Herper Award or Darwin Award lol
