View Full Version : Out of sight?

My beardies are growing up and I have set up a new enclosure for one of them. They had been in one large tank with a divider up until now.
It looks like to me that they are both males so I never plan to have them together.
My question is...Will it cause any problems if they can see each other?

In my opinion, and I don't claim to be an expert, there are two ways to look at it.
1) If they aren't physically hurting themselves or risking injury by trying to get at the other beardie, then there is no harm being done.
2) While some degree of stress for all animals is natural, you are not risking anything and may be helping them by preventing it.
I am sure there are more experienced owners who will have more to add (or correct)...

It all depends. If you have an aggressive male it could still cause the other one to be submittive even if they can't reach each other. You can test it out and see. If they are both doing great then i see no harm in it. If you notice one of them not eating or basking i would block the view of the cage or entirly move it out of the room, and see if the other dragon would do better out of the site of the other one.

They seem to be OK. The only problem is that when I'm feeding crickets to one...the other one gets impatient and gets pretty excited.
Thanks.

That should be ok. You should see my 2 when i'm shaking the bag of crickets w/ calcium and heptivitamin, those nuts pacing the cage until i throw them in. As i'm dumping them in my female sits there with her mouth open, i guess hoping they will fall in. It's even worse with butter worms!!!!
