Ford's Boa, from the island of Hispaniola (Haiti / Dominican Republic). A small, slender Epicrates, reaching perhaps 1 m in length, predominantely lizard feeders.

The sub-species Haitian Ground Boa is (E. f. Fordii) not ( E.f. Manototus) of the species Epicrates

Man, I hate common names, especially in situations like this one where you have more than one "subspecies", all of which look the same and are found pretty much in the same place. Tolson and Henderson, 1993, "The Natural History of West Indian Boas" list three subspecies: E. f. fordi, E. f. agametus (known only from type locality), and E. f. manototus. All are found on the island of Hispaniola, all could conceivably be called Haitian Ground Boas. However, the common name "Haitian Boa" is usually used to refer to E. striatus ssp., E. s. striatus being the most common one in the hobby. Call them what you will, they're all pretty little things with a pattern reminiscent of our own Lampropeltis t. triangulum (Eastern Milksnake).

I agree that it is a "splitting of hairs" issue but none the less I have come across the ssp. scientific name and for my research project it is imperative that I find the answer..lol..I wish I was not such a stickler for detail but...such is whatever...I would hate for someone who is going over my data to question my details

No one is going to "question your data" when it comes to the usage of common names. That's the main problem with their usage, many people use many different common names for the same species. I'm a big fan of insular Epicrates, I'd be interested in hearing more of your project.
