Just wondering what kind of gear you guys are using to take your pics with. And if you are using film, what kind?

I have a Pentax PZ-1P SLR, and I like Kodak Royal Gold film, I was advised that Kodak Portra VC is quite good. If anyone uses a film and really like the results please let me know so I can give it a shot!

I use digital Camera:
Canon Powershot A20 2.1 megapixel resolution up to 1600x1200
Has 3x optical zoom and up to 7.5x zoom with the digital zoom.

I really like it. It has an option for close ups... :)

I'm getting the Minolta S404 a 4.0 megapixel and decided based on reviews and comparisons from Zdnet. The decider for me was the 4 inch focus for macro shots.

go with a Nikon. You can't go wrong. The macro shots are amazing.

Yup, for good herp pics you need a close up feature. A digital will need a macro mode and a special lens is required for a film camera.

I use a digital camera (almost always)...it's a Hewlett Packard 318 (I think that's the model #)...it's not as good as most everyone else's digicam, but it gets the job done and it was a gift, so I didn't have to shell out a whack of dough for it. It has a macro mode, which I'm just starting to get the hang of, and 2X digital zoom.

Sony Cybersh*t p-50 I think.. 1.3 megapixel lots of nice features I actually like it alot but If I had a choice again this would not be the beast I would buy.
You've seen the pics I've made in haste. Not to shabby.

I use a Canon EOS 650 and an old Pentax SP 1000. For film I use Fuji Sensia slide film and Fuji Superia print film. I can't see moving over to digital for many years, I prefer to have all my images on slide or print, and am also waiting till digital hits 16 mega pixels (the equivelant of slide).

I use an Olympus C3030 Zoom digital, 3.1 mpix. It's not the best for macro, only 8", but it does a great job for what I need.

And if needed, I use PhotoImpact as my photo editor. The results are good enough for everyday.

I took this photo of a panther cham thorugh glass (you can still see some water spots, but can't help that, sorry). Monkeyed around with PhotoImpact, and I got my 2001 Christmas e-Card :)

Digital: Sony Mavica CD-300-does mpeg, saves to CD, awesome zoom and macro funtions (it took the photo of my avatar)
Sony Mavica FD-73- Cheap media, great for giving them away.

for photoediting I use Jasc PaintShop Pro

I don't use film often (it's been so long that i've forgotten which film i'm using in the cameras right now) but here's the cameras anyways

Pentax Super Program
Canon Eos 650 (I think the battery is dead in this one)
