Today my 13 yr old dgt. lost her 1 yr. old uromastyx. Over the weekend I noticed that he was in the corner of his enclosure not eating. I wasn't too concerned about it as with the colder weather he has not been eating well. This evening upon closer inspection there seemed to be blood coming out of his mouth. He was quite bloated and turning him over, he had what appeared to be blood on the inside of his belly. Could this have been internal bleeding? But do to what. He fed on greens and some seeds where always in his dish. His substrate was pine. Before hand when we first got him at 6 mos. of age he was on walnut shell bedding, but after reading up on this we changed to the pine. If any one can help me come to a conclusion on this it would be appreciated. Thank you

It's possible that he ingested some of the pine. It's really quite bad to keep them on anything other than a sand/dirt mix. Could you go into detail on his environment? Includings temps, lights, feeding/foods, water etc? I will be better able to help with the extr info.

Is it possible he was crushed by a rock? Thats how one of mine died, He wedged his head under a rock and it crushed his skull. When I found him he was puffed up like a huge balloon and there was blood coming from his mouth.
