Digital Thermometer Question.

Okay, So I just Picked up a cheap digital thermometer from Wal-Mart, But I have a Question. Should It be on the indoor temperature setting or the outdoor temperature setting?

The indoor reading is taken from the unit itself and the outdoor is taken from the remote probe.
