my bro.'s bp is ALWAYS on his cool side, and when we pick him up he is COLD! is this normal during this time of year? my female uses her warm side alot, and will switch from coolto hot side every now and then. thanx

Are yousure the male is a male? Females while developing follicules will seek cooler temps. This can last from 4 to 8 months. They will return to the heat either when the season is over or after they have matted. Once they have matted they will bask leading up to ovulation.
I've noticed my males cooling too once they stop eating.

What is your "cool" temperature range?

In the summer my DTH is 85 and NTL is 80. In winter my DTH is 80 and NTL is 75. I also turn off the basking spot at night by way of a timer. It is pretty much timed with the sun set and rise.
I really like the way the Sutherlands do it. They use prgramable Helix and a photo cell. When the sun comes up the cell turns on the lights in their sanke room and rasies the basking spots to 95 and the room ambiant in summer is 85. At night when the sun goes down the cell turns off the lights and drops the basking spots to 85. The room drops in summer to 80 at night. In the winter their basking spots are the same but the ambiant is 80 during the day and 75 at night. This is all they do to cycle their balls. The temps change in sinc with the day light hours.
My room is on the side of the house that never gets direct sun light so the blinds are always open. When the sun comes up my room gets light, when it goes down that's it no more light. If I'm working in my room at night I use a red light only, like in a photo lab sort of.

well my female is for sure b/c she was probed, and the male i popped male, but i may have read it wrong, and probing would prove better.

Farkus the femal is about 370g, while lance the male is almost 210

it used to be good, but my thermometer broke right when winter hit, im sure the males is alittle off, but my females is dead on, i marked the reostat.

Jacob – this is the time of year when people come on forums and say their snake “feels cold,” or something similar. Kind of like if a friend emailed you that he “felt hot” and did you therefore think he had a fever. Without knowing the actual temperatures in you ball python's enclosure, we can’t really respond on point. As well, hatchlings and adults seek somewhat different temperatures at this time of year.

Yep, I would be more interested in the exact temperatures rather then 'they were good.'
