I have a few questions about RES.

1) Do they eat in the water, or out of their cage, in a seperate container?

2) Would a 60/40 vegetable to meat diet be suitable or is 70/30 preferrable?

3) What fish do you keep with your RES. Can you keep gouramis, catfish?

4) Would a 90 gallon tank be suitable for an adult male for his entire life?

5) In your opinion, What is the best way to offer a basking area?(driftwood, etc, etc)

6) Last but not least, should I keep the water as high as possible or only half way?

thx..

hi, i will answer your questions as best as i can and give you a link to a very good website which can answer almost any other questions you have...
1) they should be fed in the water but should be fed in a seperate containor of water so they dont get their tank too messy

2) i'm not sure about any percentage but i know just feeding pellets is bad, they should have a large variety including live insects, fruits, veggies, aquatic plants and some other things (the website has better detail of that)

3) http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Articles/whattokeep.htm
this link goes through almost any animal you can put near a turtle

4) a 90 gallon would be big enough for an adult for his whole life

5) http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=8809&Ne=40000&R=14616&Nao=9&N=2006+113494
the new turtle ramp

6) well, i dont really know, it doesn't matter if theres alot of water or only half filled but i would go with half sence thats less water for the filter to clean and less water you would have to fill up

well i hope i'v helped you, good luck with your RES

1) Do they eat in the water, or out of their cage, in a seperate container?

I've fed mine in the water that they live in for the last 12 years, sure it might keep the water cleaner, but who has an extra container to feed in

2) Would a 60/40 vegetable to meat diet be suitable or is 70/30 preferrable?
again, I've fed mine Reptomin turtle sticks and the occasional meaty treat (crickets, fish, etc)

3) What fish do you keep with your RES. Can you keep gouramis, catfish?

none, your RES will eat them all...even plecos, Africans can be kept with them because they're fast, but you'll need a nice rock pile for them to hide in

4) Would a 90 gallon tank be suitable for an adult male for his entire life?

MAYBE, but it would be nice to have more length

5) In your opinion, What is the best way to offer a basking area?(driftwood, etc, etc)

build a canopy over the tank with a basking area and fill the tank entirely full of water

6) Last but not least, should I keep the water as high as possible or only half way?

as high as possible
