This is just a quick question, is it normal for a snake that chose for themself to go into winter cooling, to sometimes roam around to the warm side of their tank and then by the next day be back in their cool hide and continue?

I ask because this year my Spotted Python chose to go off feed as well as stick to the cool side of her tank, she hasn't lost any weight and she just kind of stayed in her cool hide, but two times so far that I've seen, she's come out, gotten a drink of water, one of those times, gone to the hot spot and hid there for the day and then went back.

Just curious if this is normal behaviour.

Yup its normal,
the whole reason behind cooling them, but giving them that hot spot during the day is to give them the option. Boids in general dont come from temperate climates, and you'll notice alot of boids will use there hot spot regularly during cooling.

i have a Timor python here that is sitting in the complete open on its hot spot in the middle of the cage every morning i wake up. eventually he goes back to his cool side for the rest of the day, but will be right back in the same place tomorrow.
A thermoregulating snake is a healthy (and happy) snake in my books.:)
