There are probably hundreds of species of phasmatidae, which one are you referring to?

In jeneral their food is made up of Black Berry lefes, Roze lefes, and a lot more... Their usual life time is 14 month. Each one lays up to 400 eggs and dies shortly after finished laying eggs. This spicie have only females which lay eggs with out fertelazetion. The Walking Stick Bug is most comonly referd to a spicie which gets up to some where around 10cm long. To succsesfully hatch the eggs, they need room temperature and you Have to spray the water on them ones a day, to keep them from drying out. This small spicie of walking stick bugs will hatch out of the eggs in 1 month (other bigger bugs like Lefe Bugs may take upto 4 month to hatch and some times longer). Walking Stick Bugs are mostly active at night time. Make sure to spray on the glass some water ones a day so that they can drink it off.
If you got any more quistions feel free to email me.

I remember reading somewhere that they eat romaine lettuce and hibiscus... correct me if I'm wrong! However, there are tons of species and each species probably has a relitively different diet..
