probably not safe. Any ivy is poisonous I think. Although, I have an ivy in my cham's house and she's never touched it. But she is a free-roamer with about 30 live plants to choose from. If yours is in a cage and that is the only live plant to select a juicy bite from, I'd rather not take the chances.

english ivy is toxic to humans, and may cause rash
the lizard is in an enclosure, with pothos and ficus
anyways, what IS a good plant to use to grow on the "walls" of the cage?

Pothos or I have whats called a Creeping Charlie. It grows fast and looks great. It among the Swedish Ivy, is non-toxic and looks greeat and is very cheap.

For verticle "growth", I like the good old fake plants from wal-mart or other places. You can stick them on anything, twist them, pull leaves off and rearrange them. They don't complain about too much heat or wrong light conditions.....etc. Don't get me wrong, live plants are really nice if you can find ones that like the conditions.

But wouldn't you prefer live ones? The plants I mentioned are (except pothos) vertical growers and do good. But I do agree, if you can't find any, some good ol' fake vine plants work great.
