How long would a thewed out mouse last in the fridge? Any suggestions much appreciated!
Bacteria doesn't stop multiplying once the animal is thawed. My advice to you is don't keep it in the fridge; if your snake doesn't take the food item, feed a different snake, or dump the food item in the trash. It's not worth the chance in my opinion.

Not worth the chance of what?
I have on occasion put a rat in the fridge for a night or two before, and fed it off with out problem. If the rat is starting to smell then i would through it out.
Daver, not worth the chance of a high bacteria-count food item for my snakes.
Like Jayson, I also will occassionally put an uneaten item in the fridge overnight to try again the next day. I wouldn't leave it any longer than that though...

personally I would treat it as I do food for myself.
If it has only been thawed and out of fridge for an hour, you could keep it covered and refridgerated for up to 48hrs.
BUT!!!!!! If it's been thawed and out for say half a day, I would not feed it. JMO.
