Got some photos of these guys napping over the weekend and realized how many of our snakes were Mexican varieties.

These are the Mexican boys,

San Luis Potosis (mex mex) kingsnake (sweet little snake - has gotten much darker grey with age)

Durango Mountain kingsnake (this old guy has to be my favorite - so mellow and so gorgeous)

Mexican black kingsnake (a rescue - you can see the kink in his back in the bottom loop - some old broken ribs but he still does fine)

Mexican milksnake (I really need a female to go with this guy!)

Nice, I have a dark mex-mex female that would go just right with your male:) And why no Thayeri or Ruthveni? Sinaloans...oligozona..... lol!

Looking good Mary. With any luck I'll have baby Mex Milks again this year as I didn't end up selling my pair & they are burmating now. I think I said it to you at the EDM show & I'll say it again. I'm almost positive I owned that Durango Mtn. before too. He sure is nice anyway. Mark

Yes Mark - I believe that Durango was one that you had - he is a great snake (if a bit chubby) - outstanding temperament. He was one of a pair and he was supposed to be the female but has probed male. I also got him as a probable female, and he probes only 4 scales on one side but 7 on the other - that as well as tail shape convinced me he is male. He will be staying with us til the end of his natural days. I have a limited number of species I want to keep, but there will always be a few pets and he is one of my favorites.

If you end up with any Mexican milksnake babies that have the orange bands my male does I will be looking for a female in the spring,

Yes Mary he is chubby. Blame me for that partially as I too thought it was a girl in the beginning & fed him like a breeder female for around a year. That boy ate alot of mice at my house anyway LOL My Mex male has that Apricot look to him, but my girl is plain jane whitish (he puts her to shame). The babies this year appeared more like her (& there were only 3 DOH!) but we will see I guess. Mark
