View Full Version : The Ugliest Morph *pic*
I think amels are the foulest of all the morphs. In fact, I don't like a lot of amel anything! Anyhow, here's a female I got from Mark Kenderdine aka crimsonking. I call her April. I could say she's pretty, but being an albino kind of ruined that, but I will say, she's a very sweet snake, with a good feeding response and gentle eyes.

The oddest thing, is that I have more amels than anything else. Go figure!

Amels corns are the coolest snake in the hobby.
I remember getting my second and third snake - back in '89 when they still went for $200 each (I got them for much cheaper).
They likely are responsible for more new snake keepers than anything. I had a bit of trouble convincing my mother that I should get a lot of snakes, but when she saw they came in a pretty orange color - she let me get more!
Yours looks like a reverse oketee with cool zig zag. I had a wild caught zig zag as my first snake, so I will always like that zig zagy look.

That's an EXTRA-pretty amel! :D
Glad you guys like this hideous looking snake.
Despite her bad looks, I still keep her, and wouldn't sell her. She's just too sweet for that.

That should start you off. I took Bio 202 Genetics in SFU and since I've sold off my textbook, I don't feel like getting iinto a big explaination, however if you have questions after reading, feel free to PM me. I love genetics, it's a pet hobby of mine, that I don't get a chance to talk about a lot.

Cool Katt, I will check into that

Just out of curiosity, if you so hate amels why do you have so many of them?

She has turned out very nice, Katt! I wonder if I'll ever get a full zig-zag. I wasn't going to breed the same parents together again, but when I see this little corn, I think I have to.

Katt
I think that you should give that one to me~
yeah she is way too ugly....
so giving it to me will help out
I will just take in the ugliest of your corns then~
I will give you a normal het for nothing (if that is even possible nowadays..lol) for that 'ugly' amel of yours~
Nope, this gal is NFS. She's one of Mark's babies.
I'm not sure why I have so many amels. I try to stick to corns with abnormal patterns, and it seems that I can only find amel stripes and amel mots! I would really really like an anery stripe. OOoh!

She is a lovely amel - though I am not a fan of zigzags I love her soft coloration - nice orange background. Amels remain one of my favorite morphs of corn, even now that they are as common as they are,

She's actually quite pretty Katt, and I'm not a big fan of amel's myself! Very nice :)
LOL... I'm with you, most albino animals look sick to me... but for some reason some of the corn morphs manage to pull it off nicely! :p Nice looking little girl you have there :)
LOL. That thing is 'hideous'... ;)
