now this is my first post, i have looked back through the old posts in this forum, and i cant find any other threads, so i am going to ask a question.

i have a Jungle Corn snake bought from a local reptile breeder, now i have had the corn, i call him "Dom" for around a month and a half. i have the corn snake manual by bill & kathy love and it doesn't touch the subject.

how do you bath your snake? can you do it? because he smells a bit, and i want dom to be a pampered snake. i bathed him in a little bit of luke warm water, which he swam in for a little while. but this did not rid him of his smell. please any input would be much appreciated. thank you.

You can add a mild liquid soap or a VERY mild shampoo (something for permed or color treated hair is usually mild enough) to the water, but you have to control the head to make sure it doesn't get submersed. The soap won't harm the scales, but will be quite toxic if ingested. I have to do this once in a while with a few of our corns.

I use mild liquid soap and a face cloth too. While they swim around i try to get the cloth around them and just hold it snug when they wiggle their way around and through it. I've also tried a spray that you can spray the tank with that is supose to get the smell out. It does work, but not that well. I'd say keeping the enclosure clean is always your best bed!

its short for domina. havent had the young bugger sexed yet, so it has a unusual name. is there a thread on snakes names? i would love to hear all the names of peoples corns, and what type too.
