Huge snake found in Indonesia

I was reading the Toronto Star and found this article about a HUGE snake found the snakes measures 14.85 meters,
447 kilograms.

I think the whole thing is a joke.I have looked alot pictures of the snake and its no 50 foooter,not even close to being 50ft or just under 1000lbs

I saw it on the news this morning. There were no measuring devices, and who knows if it really reached 49 feet. But never the less, it is a whole lotta snake, 20 feet or 50 feet. It has quite a girth on it...

Cool...finally a picture. Im not sure if thats 50' either. If you think of it this way..and take the longest tractor trailer combination going down the hiway...the longest legal trailer you can pull is 53'. So next time your at a stop light, think about the lenght of that trailer and the fact that the snake is almost that long!!! But judging from the pic...look at the size of the girth on that bad boy where the man is standing. There is no doubt that that is a huge snake! Imagine just having to measure something that size, wild caught, afraid of humans...the strenght and the amount of ppl it would take to hold him!!! Who wants to hold the head!!! :)

I instantly thought of all the 48' trailers I've loaded and unloaded and imagined the snake's enormous head resting on the dockplate with the tail up touching the cab end of the trailer, that's freakin scary!

Comparison with reasonablly scalable objects in the photos are yielding estimates of about 25' & 400# max.

Far too much yellow journalism tabloid-style reporting on this one.

A UK reporter went & measured the snake between 6.5 & 7 meters = 22ft.
