two new eggs

but they must be infertile since i have had Cookie since October 18th, and she has been by herself... two eggs in the plant. i have not touched them, but they are infertile, right? i am making sure she hgets a lot of calcium(actually, i have always made sure she got a lot of calium) and i wonder should i lower the temps? it is about 72 in the tank...

I wouldn't assume that they are infertile as alot of reptiles are able to keep sperm in them for quite some time and choose when to inpregnate themselfs you should be able to tell soon enough.

Oh, really? there is a chance of hatching a live gecko? Shoot! i have to go on vacation starting Monday thru Saturday. the house sitter will be caring for the geckos. should i put the eggs in a separate container or watch them for a few days to see if they change?

GENERALLY I WOULD SAY YOU SHOULD ALWAYS TAKE THE EGGS AND INCUBATE THEM.. BUT I AM NOT AN EXPERT.. oopsie.. sorry about the caps... :S

I say incubate them, you never know the history of your female. Like Doug said she can retain sperm and choose when to lay.

I would candle them now so that you get an idea of how they look (they will look yellow), put them in an incubating container, and then candle them again in 4 weeks to see if there's any development of blood vessels. You never know. Virgin females can lay eggs, but they can also retain sperm.

Well, they are about the size of two small peas in a pod..I put them in a container with the same soil as the potted plant, i an keeping them humid, and semi warm..not hot...i marked the top of each before i moved it, and they are ok for now..Mom finally eating, again..She is not a virgin, she was kept with a male and they were a proven breeding pair.. but then i bought her on the 18th of October...When she did not lay eggs by a month, i was certain she would not. I did not know they could retain sperm..So i could get lucky...I'll do my best.. i have to go pick up vermiculite...
