Here's some quick shots I took today. This first one is of the tank where I currently house 1.3 African Fat tail geckos.

I have one more female quarantined. She will remain there until February. Hopefully with any luck I will get some eggs this time next year.

I'd have a good look at the female in shed now if she's in with a male ....and, perhaps the stripe is a little small to be in with that group for the moment? Good luck on the project!

I kept a close eye on the communal behaviour of all geckos, especially the stripe. You're right she is smaller, but she was already with the group for quite awhile before I received them. My biggest concern was making sure she received the right amount of food so I started out by feeding her in a separate container, but she has proven to be a more ravenous feeder than any of the others. I will continue to monitor the female currently in shed.

Thanks! The group of AFT's are on a mixed substrate of organic potting soil (no chemicals) and some terra fibre. There is also a base of mulch around their water dish in case there is a spill it prevents a muddy substrate.

Just a question, in your tank for your fattails, do you have a humid hide?

In this tank, because of the proximity of hidespots to the water source, the type of substrate and the fact that I mist one side of the cage every couple days, the humidity seems to stay ideal. If during winter I find that the humidity is not acceptable, I will usually add some type of moss under one of the hide spots that you see on the right side of the tank. So far, shedding seems to be going very well, so I'm really pleased with this organic potting soil that I'm currently using as a substrate.
It's important that I note that my quarantine tank for another fat tail has a substrate of outdoor carpeting. In that tank I do use a designated humid hide which she spends most of her time in. That reminds me, I must go mist that humid hide now.
