BP Breeding Question

I'm planning to breed my Ball Python at some point. I'm buying a male (yay) and he'll be here some time after the first (I'm sending money for him via paypal on the 1st). What I'm wanting to know is if someone can point me in the right direction for information to read about breeding BP's. I have a simple little book but it doesn't really say jack about it. It says nothing about temp changes or anything. Thanks guys!

Just search for care sheets. There are literally hundreds. After you read a bunch of them you'll begin to learn which ones are more "accurate" than others. :)

a few questions for you
have you got an incubator set up yet?
have you got it so that it stays @ the temps you need?
how big is your girl ?

and now the other part if you cant afford to spend $10 on abook how are you gonna afford to feed 1 more snake ??????

Yes we have an incubator set up already. Yes it is to where it stays at the temps we need it. My girl is almost 5 foot long. As for how I feed the snakes....I raise my own feeders.

Hi. In the future I am going to play around with breeding my pair of ball pythons. To be totally honest with you, the internet has no where near the information you will need. The BP manial is an awesome awesome book (The Ball Python Manual by Phillipe De Vosjoli) And you will not find most of its information on the web IMHO.

Unfortunatly BoAddict brings up good points. Last year I only bred a pair of cornsnakes, but let me tell you, FAR more than ten bucks came out of our pockets, far more. So when breeding you need money to spend before you make any, which is very hard to do. But the money to spend must be there.

the point people dont seem to understand is that yea you will eventually sell your babies but till then you have expenses such as where are you gonna house them remember its not good to house together about the heating and feeding oh yea and a well fed well started baby sells better than a scrawny problem feeder coz you didnt have enough $$$$ to feed ona regular basis

i think far too many people are just looking at the $$$$ and not looking at the big picture

I know it's not good to house them together and I have more than enough enclosures to house a single baby in each...including the heating pads, etc. As for feeding them, I breed my own feeders and have a freezer full of different sizes of rats from pinkies to large. Thus I won't have any problems being able to feed the babies so I won't have any scrawny problem feeders due to not being able to feed on a regular basis. And if you read the very first thing I said in the start of this thread I said "at some point" I did not at any time say I was going to rush right in to breeding her right this very minute. One more thing just for an FYI, I found the BP manual on amazon.com used for $6 and have ordered it. Thank you.
