URGENT beardie laying help

My beardie is digging around her rock a lot. There is a male in the cage and they have been together for over a month. Right after she stopped digging she took a big crap lol. Does this mean she has eggs and she is ready to lay? I felt her belly and I can't find anything. If I don't hear anything by 3:00 I am going to buy a laying box and I am putting vermiculite in it. It will be moist. It won't be in the tank. Thanks, Morgan.

If she contnuies to dig then yes i would make her a lay box just incase. There are several ways to do this, i will use mine as an example. I mix sand and nice clean potting soil(no additives like perilite) mix those 2 with some water until your able to make a little burrow with your hands with out it being to hard or crumbiling. this way the female can make her self a nice little burrow (if she is gravid).

If she is gravid and does lay eggs that's where you can use vermiculite. Gently, i mean gently dig up the eggs and place them in a tray of vermiculite. (in little indents you make in the vermiculite) then place them in a incubator or a temp. controled room. Then it's waiting time.

Ok I have the soil and sand now. I don't see any more digging. What could she have dug for? I just brought up the daylight for 1 hour this week as someone informed me that brumation is not neccissary. I do not want this to trun in to one of those 3 page discussions on it so unless you have something to say about laying sites or why my female is acting funny please don't say anything at all. I am trying not to be rude so please don't take offence but I really want to figure this out. Thanks, Morgan.

Beardies just like to dig- most anyway. My male and female would both dig a lot when I still had them on sand and stopped trying when I put them on cage carpet or newspaper. That doesn't mean she's not gravid, so it still might be a good idea to have the laying box in there, but don't panic if nothing happens.
